THANKS ..

A big thank you to Daphne who helped me to pack away all of the Christmas trees and decorations. Brenda kindly donated some beautiful silk flowers. Denise Clarke cleaned the kitchen thoroughly, de-frosted the fridge and cleaned the Microwave. Coffee & Chat has restarted and we are so thankful for all those who help. Especially Gloria who gets to church early and helps clean and get the tables ready, Judith also has stepped in whilst Mandy takes a bit of a rest. So many others help with washing up and providing cakes and Jenny who very kindly takes the dirty tea towels every week to wash. I am absolutely indebted to you all for the on- going help. Thank you so much

NEWS

What fun we had this week at our special Burns morning Coffee & Chat. We had music by a Ceilidh Band playing, and thank you to all who dressed with a little bit of tartan. Everyone had a great time. Jeanette & Debbie kept us well entertained. Jeanette addressed the Haggis reading from Robbie Burns in a broad Scottish dialect. We all got the chance to try Haggis. Me, for the very first time and I must say it was much nicer than I imagined. Then it was down to the dancing, which was great fun and Debbie was our caller and we still managed to go wrong, which all added to the laughter. Michelle treated us to some delicious homemade shortbread, which just melted in the mouth, yum, yum.

Anne is now home from hospital, she is very weak but in good spirits. She has come out with a chest infection but is enjoying her cosy and quiet room after the noisy hospital ward. Her chair is beside a window looking out across the yard at the farm and she can watch the cattle and the tractors up and down passing her window. David, Anne s nephew, feeds the birds regularly so they get all sorts in the garden. Joe, Judi and David have been wonderful visiting Anne in hospital everyday and continuing that support with Anne s carers now.

Brenda, Val, Doreen and Judy all support this church with monetary gifts although they cannot come because of mobility problems they are just about managing, they all have their off days but keep as bright as they can. Please keep all in your prayers. I saw Iris recently she is doing well and kindly donated some biscuits to the Coffee Morning and also a monetary gift for the church. The church is very blessed by these wonderful friends to help keep everything going for the benefit of others and the Lord s work in Silver End.

Dan Sutton Silver End Scouts I just wanted to share some wonderful news. I was chatting to his Dad and he was telling me Dan has won 2 Awards recently. One from Bear Grylls which I did know about and also another Community Award. Both of these awards are in recognition of the hours of extra work, planning and opportunities he gives to the young people in this village. Dan does all this in a very quiet way, never promoting himself. He is always willing to go beyond what is expected and he has helped this fellowship for many years in supporting us whenever he can, for which we are very grateful. Well Done Dan! We are very proud of you.

We should never forget all the Leaders of the groups which meet here. They are all voluntary and give up many hours to run groups for us all. Thank you

Almighty and everlasting God we thank you that you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day. Keep us free from falling into sin or running into danger, order us in all our doings and guide us to do always what is righteous in your sight; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Father God we thank you for this fellowship. We thank you for our building, which is warm and welcoming. Thank you that we can meet together as your children to worship and praise You, what a privilege that is. We thank You for Your love and continued goodness towards us. Lord please bless this village and all who belong to You. We pray for the other churches that meet in Your name, Help us all to work together to show your love, mercy and grace. Amen

We would pray especially for all conflict that is going on in the World. Immediately we think of Israel and the Gaza strip, Ukraine and Russia and the worrying involvement of Iran supplying weapons to both Russia, Hamas and the Houthi s. There is trouble with the shipping being attacked. There is so much that we actually never hear about especially the persecution of Christians in places like Nigeria. These problems are vast and we must not forget to pray for all, especially as tensions escalate. We pray for solutions to be found and a peaceful end.

Please keep the Government in your prayers and all in Parliament in these very troubling times. We pray for all Christians in Parliament that they will seek God s guidance in all their undertakings.

We lift prayers of Hope & Healing for: Anne, Val, Brenda, Doreen, Judy, David, Iris, Don, Ted and Barbara.

Nevertheless I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever. Psalm 73:23-26 (ESV)
