Friday 25th A Thanksgiving & Memorial Service for Brenda Hardy will take place here at the church, time 12.00 noon. Brenda was a much loved part of this fellowship. There will be refreshments afterwards at the church. All very welcome, please spread the word,

Sat 26th The church will be open at 2.30pm to decorate for Harvest and receive any harvest gifts fresh produce and Tins, Packets, jars etc. All of these gifts will be going to HomeStart who work with local families in need.

Our Dear Friend Brenda Hardy -25/1/1942 - 4/8/2026
It is with great sadness we report that our dear friend Brenda died suddenly on the 4th August. She had spoken to her son Paul, early that morning, sadly Brenda was found a bit later that morning by a Carer. Many of you know that Brenda has been housebound for almost a couple of years and struggled with her health. Brenda always appreciated people who would call her for a chat. She very much looked forward to Gloria visiting nearly every day to have a chat and do errands for her. Brenda very much missed being able to go out and visit all her friends. She was always kind helping many people with lifts, when she was able to drive. She was very faithful supporting this church and her faith in God, always thankful and thinking of others worse off than herself. She adored her birds and animals too. We have missed Brenda at our services, but knew she would always be thinking of us and praying for everyone. Brenda is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
I do trust you have enjoyed doing some different things during this last month. This fellowship certainly has on a Sunday Evening. We have had a great time with lots of fun, fellowship and food! If you missed out here is a Taster of what happened. We had a Pick N Mix Sunday. Julia spoilt us with so many different bowls of sweets, so much choice, little bags with a Bible Text on Taste and See that the Lord is Good Ps 34:8 and scoops to fill them with. We were all like big kids trying all the different flavours. My favourite were the Jelly Beans. Her theme was that we are all different, shapes, sizes, ages but all very precious to God. We chose our favourite hymns and shared why they were special to us.
The next Sunday was Dave's choice, Fish & Chip Sunday Dave did a brilliant job organising this placing our order on Friday, ready for Sunday. Everything was delivered hot and 16 of us tucked into our fish and chips. Annette came beautifully dressed for the occasion with a very pretty blouse with a tropical island scene. She was also wearing fish earrings. We thought about a couple of Miracles in the Bible, Jesus feeding the 5,000 men with 5 loaves and 2 fish. Also the BBQ on the beach after Jesus had risen from the dead he appeared on the beach cooking a fish breakfast. His disciples had spent all night fishing and caught nothing until, he told them to caste their nets on the other side.
Last week Ice Cream Sundae we had so many different flavours of ice cream, we were spoilt for choice. Plus sprinkles, sauces and chocolate flakes. Julia talked about us being a community of people once again all different, with different gifts to offer to the Lord for Him to use where ever we go, sharing His love.
This week it is Back to School Sunday . We do thank Jeanette and Debbie for helping with this service once again. It will be great fun singing all those old assembly favourites and a time to think about all our young people starting out on their journey into school for the new Academic year, with many going to school for the first time or senior school, college or university. We will pray for them all. We hope you enjoyed our August Services.

Our Thoughts, Prayers & Praises
Faith in Action: Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and
assurance about what we do not see, Hebrews 11:1
We thank God for the many blessings we have received this past month; for his faithfulness and love. As we think about the Harvest this year and how difficult it has been for the farmers and continues to be so. We thank God for the food we have to enjoy but it makes us realise just how hard it is for farms to survive with livestock and arable fields all struggling to produce food for our nation.
We pray for the terrible flash flood in Nepal. They are reporting 2,000 people have lost their lives. So much shock and suffering from the loss of family, friends, their homes and livelihoods. Lord please help these all who are bringing aid in any way to help relieve the suffering.
We pray especially for Karen and Paul, Brenda s daughter and son and all their families. It has been a difficult time for them as Brenda s Great Grandson was born prematurely just after Brenda s death. He was 6 weeks early and has just come out of Neonatal Unit at Whipps Cross hospital. His name is Elliott. Please remember them all in your prayers.
Please pray for Judy, David has been taken back into hospital and is going into a Care Home to be looked after. He has really struggled being at home, unable to go to bed and unable to walk and sleeping in a chair. Judy herself is in constant pain, but managing with help from carers. It has been extremely difficult for them both, so we pray that they both get the help and care they need.
Keep in your prayers all the friends we pray for... Liz, Denise, Val and Geoff, Iris, Shelia, Margaret and Brian. Due to the school holidays I haven t been able to visit folk. I have spoken to Geoff, he tells me Val has good and bad days, but is being well cared for. He is doing okay himself. I have spoken to Iris she also has good and bad days but she keeps cheerful. She was very sad at the news of Brenda s death as they were very good friends for many years.
Pray for all the children and teachers back at Nurseries, School, College, and University.
