THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH

I arise today through a mighty strength: God’s power to guide me, God’s might to uphold me, God’s eyes to watch over me, God’s ear to hear me, God’s word to give me speech, God’s hand to guard me, God’s way to lie before me, God’s shield to shelter me, God’s host to secure me.

Bridgid of Gael – First Century.

Suggested Prayers

I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love, not life or death, not angels or spirits, not present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!                     Romans 8:38-39

We give God thanks for the Harvest, we had good weather enabling the farmers to get their crops in, they, are now busy preparing the ground for next year. Just recently we have had some rain for our gardens and vegetables, the flowers in the garden have been beautiful, we have so much to be thankful for. We are truely showered with blessings from God.

We pray for all young people returning to schools, colleges and universities. For some they will be just starting out in these places of learning. We pray especially for our local school and new Head teacher Miss Gooding, and all the staff who work with her and alongside the young people. Pray also for the Playgroup and Children’s Centre.

We remember all Groups who will be re-starting and meet here at the church, Silver Tots, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Dance Group, and also the new Gym Totastics Group. We would also remember the Scout Group who will be now using their new premises. We pray that God will richly bless each Leader and young person. This village is very fortunate to have so many things for our young people to be involved in. Please pray for them!

We continue to pray for ourselves and the other churches in this village. Pray that the Holy Spirit will cause new Christian families to come and live here and do the Lord’s work increasing numbers of children and adults to come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Remember all who are suffering such terrible times in places like Syria and throughout the Middle East. All who are caught up in acts of terrorism, which can happen anywhere in the World. The Migrants who are seeking a new life in Europe.

Remember Parliament as it returns for a new session. May the Lord protect our Nation and lead MP’s as they serve this Country.

We pray for people known to us who are not well and in need of prayer and healing. We remember all who are in pain, those undergoing treatment for cancer, those who are grieving. May they know the peace of God with them all.

Message from Val….

Geoff and I would like to thank everyone for their cards, wishes and most of all prayers, before and since my recent surgery. We are so very grateful to everyone. I am making fair progress, although up to time of writing still having nurses coming in to dress the wound as I had a infection there. It was good to see some of you when we came out recently on Sunday evening, and hope to see you all again soon.

Love Val & Geoffx
