THANKS & NEWS
Thank you for the many donations of cakes for our Mothers Day Service and Easter Day Family Service. Both services were very well supported and it was good to see new faces. A big thank you to Marie and Denise who made all the bunches of daffs for Mothers day and of course a huge thank you to Denise, Gloria and Dave for organising and helping in the kitchen on those occasions too.
A big thank you to Carol Hutchings and Emily for leading the Easter service and a fun Egg Hunt around the church garden. We were very fortunate to have such lovely weather and all the children had a wonderful time..
My thanks to Gloria who visits Doreen once a week and Brenda almost daily. This is such a wonderful thing to do. It is always so nice to get visitors when you are housebound. Gloria also helps Brenda with odd bits of shopping or picking up prescriptions. She is such a good friend and lifeline to Brenda and Doreen. She is also helping me with the church pastoral care. I appreciate this as I am not able to do more.
We have had another busy time at Coffee and Chat this past month with an extra special morning for Easter. Mandy came up trumps with a good quiz and we had an Easter Anagrams Quiz also. As always a big thank you especially to Denise, Mandy and others that help every week at Coffee and Chat. Thank you also to all who donate cakes, biscuits and coffee to our Coffee Morning. We very much appreciate all of you.
Another big thank you to St. Francis Church for their donation towards Anne s Rose Garden and Arch. It was such a lovely, welcome surprise and support..
Dave Cobb and I attended the Parish Assembly recently and gave a report on what has been going on at the church over the last year. It was interesting to hear what other groups were doing and what help they got.
Thank you to the person who left a lovely surprise on the communion table. I was very intrigued. It was a scroll and tied with a lovely red ribbon, and placed under the Bible. I opened the roll of paper and read the words on the sheet. I will share them with you.
This book is open. The book of Love, The Love of Jesus sent from above. The Love of Jesus, to set us free. This Love of Jesus, for you and me. With Love and honour, and truth within. Always with God s Love through our Loving King. Amen Jesus Lives For Ever More.
May is such a wonderful time of year. We took a ride to Chalkney Woods to see the beautiful bluebells; the sweet smell was delightful. It was so peaceful and nice in the woods despite our dogs and our son's dog all charging around having fun. I am always overcome by the awesomeness of nature when the new leaves appear on the trees and hedgerows and there are so many different greens. New life is just amazing, from what looked dead and ugly comes a canopy of fresh bright colour At Easter we think about New Life and the new life that knowing Jesus brings through His death on a cross. The ugliness of our lives is washed in the blood of Jesus and we are forgiven and will be with him for all eternity.
The next stage in the Painting of the church is starting in mid June.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (The Message)
Because Jesus was raised from dead, we ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven and the future starts now!
God is keeping careful watch over us and the future ..
We give God all the thanks and praise for his mercies shown to us. The glory of his creation is all around us at the moment. The lush green leaves, so new and vibrant. We are very blessed to live in this Country and experience the seasons and beauty all around us.
We would pray for those who are struggling to find the money to pay the bills, for those that are on the fringe and are not able to claim benefit help. We do thank God for the kindness of people who donate money to the food bank or food hub, Some of us have never known what it feels like to be hungry.
We pray for this fellowship, please God send workers here for You. We give God thanks for all who support this fellowship in so many ways. May God bless you all.
Please remember all those dear ones in need of our prayers especially those who are grieving. We continue to remember Rueben, Alexia and Josh and family, Pat Maholland, Clive Butchers family, Roy Daines family. Lord Comfort, Protect and surround them and all the family with your love we pray. Please continue to remember Erica, Margaret, Brenda, Shelia, Doreen, Judy & David, Barbara, Iris, and Val and Geoff in Witham. There are so many other people we know who are really struggling with depression, money worries, job worries at this time, we lift them to the Lord.
Pray for Our World: For peace in Ukraine and Russia, For peace in Israel and Palestine. For our own Country and the breakdown of society and Christian values and ethics. Pray for the persecuted church. Remember to give God thanks for our freedoms.
We pray for Canada after this terrible tragedy, 10 people murdered by a man purposely driving a car so fast into a procession of people. We pray for the families grieving and injured.
