NO SERVICE

Good Friday – Walk of Witness

We thank Ola for carrying the cross single handed for most of the Walk of Witness. We were very blessed with the weather and our friends from St. Mary’s RC church led our walk with short readings and reflection, after each reflection we joined in a verse from the very moving hymn ‘Were you there.’ We gathered at St. Francis where we had a joint service together, followed by lovely Hot Cross Buns. We thank Carol and Malcolm who led our Easter Day Services. As always the Easter Egg Hunt was very popular. It was great to see so many families and we had such an uplifting and Joyous Easter evening service.

Suggested Prayers

‘Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer…Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position…Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.’

 Romans 12:12-18 (NIV)

25th May – 4th June ‘Thy Kingdom come’

The Archbishop of Canterbury is inviting Christians around the world to pray between Ascension Day and Pentecost, for people to know Jesus Christ. (thykingdom.co.uk)

Lord thank you for every opportunity for churches to help those in need through food banks, homeless shelters, Street Pastors, debt advice, job clubs and other initiatives. Please bless all who serve in this way. Amen

Father, please protect Your people living and working in countries that are hostile to Christianity and provide opportunities to witness for You in word and deed. We also pray for those serving in refugee camps and with other groups in desperate need to know Your strength and peace. Amen

Thanksgiving: For the churches in this village. Pray that the Holy Spirit would fill them with love and grace to cause them to shine like beacons of God’s love and truth through their message of hope and united practical action in the community.

Please continue to remember many friends and those from our community who need our prayers. Remember those who are undergoing surgery, and have upcoming hospital appointments. Remember too all who are struggling with frailties of body and mind.  We think of those that are in palliative care.

We marvel at God’s creation of the universe; how all things are balanced according to God’s infinite wisdom and power proclaiming his glory. May we live responsibly and do all we can to protect our planet.

The month of May is the most beautiful month in England. After a long winter to see the magnificent trees in full leaf and covered in blossom, and the hedgerows  are so lush and green, we give God our thanks and praise.

Pray for this Country as it once again goes through a General Election and a time of uncertainty. We ask for wisdom as we make decisions for our future.
