NEWS AND THANKS
Another month has rushed by, it has been a busy one at the church. At the beginning of February we had our first Focus Group meeting, where we looked at the church’s future and the day to day decisions that have to be made to keep the premises open. Yesterday we held a full church meeting to which everyone is invited to come along and hear what has been going on and also to suggest ideas or bring up any problems that might need discussing. It is always great to hear other people’s ideas and have their support and we really appreciate all who take time out of their busy lives to come along. It certainly was a good meeting with some positive thoughts looking to the future.
We have had two special Coffee and Chats this last month with quizzes for Valentine Day and we celebrated Shrove Tuesday with mini pancake races and pass the pancake around the table, which was a lot of fun. Thank you Janette for providing the music for us, it was great. Our wonderful window cleaner Dave turned up the other Tuesday morning for this annual job. It is just great to have people you can rely on without having to chase to come and do a job. He and his brother in law Terry who is now retired, have been cleaning our windows once a year for many, many years and they have hardly put the price up over all that time. It is such a massive job, if you go around and count how many windows we have! Good job Dave and thank you.
As always I would like to thank all you lovely people who help in so many ways. Especially thank you for all the cakes we enjoy on a Tuesday morning, we know how expensive everything is at the moment. You are all so kind and generous. Also a big shout out to Gloria and Erica on a Sunday evening and now Dave is going to help with carrying the drinks around which will be brilliant. Thank you all so Much.
Looking ahead we will be celebrating Mothers Day with a family service here on Sunday 19th March at 10.00. We would love to see you all come along. There will be bunches of flowers for all. Marie is going organise this for us and the lovely Denise has offered to do the refreshments afterwards. Coffee & Cake or Tea if you prefer, so we know we will be looked after. It would be lovely to see you and all the family. The bonus this year is that the clocks do not go forward until the following week!!!
‘Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away
better and happier.’ (Mother Teresa 1910-1997)
We are now in the period of time called LENT
as we prepare for Easter, think about the verse below
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9

7 days without Jesus makes one weak!
Thank God.
Today is a special and beautiful day!
No matter how difficult it is today
God is with you at every step.
Have a good day.
Give thanks to God for the signs of spring. After the long cold winter days and nights, we can see reminders that spring and new life is on its way.
Beginning of Lent – 40 days of preparation for Easter
Lord, we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us to amend what we are, and direct what we shall be; that we may do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with you, our God. Amen (Church of England)
Pray for this fellowship that we may serve our community faithfully by showing love to all we meet. May God give us wisdom as we reach out and share His saving grace.
We give thanks for all our Speakers who come to take our services week by week, sharing the Word of God with us. We are so blessed that we are able to gather together for Worship and Praise, growing in faith and love, being renewed and restored by His grace through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We give thanks for this village, for all we enjoy, our homes and gardens, our neighbours and friends. We are so fortunate to live in such a place, even if our health and mobility is not good we can give thanks for the things we can still enjoy.
Please pray especially for all those in great need grieving and suffering after the huge earthquakes in Turkey & Syria. Over 50,000 people have been killed, it is just so heart breaking, when we see and read about the situation. We also pray for all the medical and rescue teams that have gone in to help as much as possible.
Pray for our Country at this time, still in turmoil with strikes, to continue taking place. Pray for the Government, that they will show great wisdom as they wrestle with so many problems that affect the everyday lives of us all.
Pray for Ukraine, one year into this terrible war, so many have died and their homes and livelihoods destroyed, Only people who lived through the last year have any concept of what it feels like. We must pray for peace.
Please bring before the Lord, those, from this fellowship who are in much need of our prayers. We pray for Roy, for Doreen, for Brenda, for Rose, for Shelia, for Judy, for Val. We know of many others grieving in this village too, we add to this list Anne’s and the Smith family.
