Matthew 10:14 “ Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
AUGUST
During August Coffee and Chat will be finishing at 11.30am We do appreciate Denise & Mandy’s dedication in keeping Coffee Morning going throughout the year. Thank you.
HOLIDAYS
We do hope you can all find times of rest and relaxation, with maybe an away day from your usual routines. Enjoy whatever comes your way.
NEWS AND THANKS
Half the year has gone by already and I am another year older, thank you very much for all my birthday wishes and gifts, I feel very honoured and spoilt. I am reminded that ‘Time waits for no man’ I just don’t know where my days go to. I have so much to do and unfortunately not enough energy to achieve all that I would like. I know many of you who will read this newsletter are not able to get out and about as you once could. Please be assured I do pray for you all every day, during my quiet time. I do try to keep contact with you all, and I want you to know you are never forgotten. I recently read a quote from Mother Teresa. ‘If you can’t do great things, do little things with great love. And if you can’t do them with great love, do them with a little love. And if you can’t do them with little love, do them anyway.’ Love grows when you serve people, sometimes we don’t feel very loving, especially when we are struggling ourselves. The Lord can bless all the little things, actions and prayers that we offer for one another, so do them anyway to God’s glory
A Special Thank You.
I would especially like to highlight Denise and Mandy who give up their time every week to be responsible for running Coffee & Chat, I know that many of you help with the clearing up and washing up, but it is the commitment of being responsible every week, Denise gets to the church early setting up, filling the boiler, making sure we have cakes for everyone. Mandy always comes up with fun ideas and quizzes for us all to enjoy, these things don’t just happen the list goes on and on….We must never take them for granted, they both work very hard. They have both agreed to keep going throughout August too, so if you would like to lend a hand let them know.
Thank you Girls, you are just the best!
Thank you to those who came along to the church meeting, it is always good to hear your ideas, get feedback and contacts. It is such an encouragement, thank you.
Just to keep you all updated on what’s been happening at the church during June. Our electrical items have been PAT Tested, the Gas boilers serviced and Gas safety check completed. John Raven has been tidying up and decorating the fire exit which has suffered from a cold winter. So it has been a busy month of maintenance. Daphne keeps working hard in the church grounds/ garden when she has time and we are extremely grateful. As I say every month “what would we do without you all?” especially those who do the unseen things, the little extras, that we all take for granted, Gloria is one who does this, thank you, Gloria.

Something for you to think about!
Back at the beginning of the year, we were thinking about words of encouragement we could share with one another. Brenda very kindly sent me a long list of ideas, which I have just re-discovered so I wanted to share them with you.
1 Count your blessings every day. 2. Show your love and kindness. 3. Like a candle shine your light. 4. Pray for others needing help and care. 5. Jesus is always there for everyone. 6. Jesus forgives us – Thank you Jesus. 7. A smile given to a stranger will brighten their day. 8. Treat others as you would like to be treated. 9. Forgive your enemies. 10. Try to be a friend to everyone. 11 Don’t be selfish. 12. Show love and friendliness. 13. Thank the Lord for our beautiful World. 14. New friends are silver, old friends are gold. All are precious. 15 Singing and showing joy brings happiness. 16. Remember Jesus loves everyone.
Thank you Brenda
Our Prayers
A Prayer for each day. As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and forever. Amen
Pray for our World: So much has been happening over this last month, so much pain and disaster. A Train crash in India, terrible atrocities happening in parts of Africa, hundreds feared drowned on the migrant boat which capsized off of Greece. The terrible murder of the 3 people in Nottingham, the 5 deaths from this deep water OceanGates Titan submersible. The war in Ukraine and the instability this is causing in Russia. There is so much going on and this is just a small part, but we ask ‘Lord have Mercy’ ‘Christ have Mercy’
Please pray for our schools and young people as the academic year comes to a close. For many children and parents who are struggling, having the structure of school every day is such a help. Many families will be finding things very tough with the cost of living so high, affecting us all, but especially families and those with mortgages. Please pray especially for your neighbours and families that live around you and help where you can.
Please keep little Elsie in your prayers, as she undergoes an operation on her hips. We pray for the skills of the surgeons and nursing staff. Pray too for the family, Marie and Jamie and Elsie’s sisters and brother as they all help to care for Elsie.
We pray for the Lord’s blessing on Matilda Watson and her parents as they bring her to be baptised here on the 30th July.
Keep all who are grieving in your prayers, we especially pray for Jayme Leigh whose dad James died recently. Remember too all in need of our prayers, especially Pat, Iris, Brenda, Rose, Nicki, Val, Doreen, Judy and Shelia.
When you can’t put your prayers into words… God hears your heart. Romans 8:26
