JUNE IS GOING TO BE A BUSY MONTH
Sat/Sun 13th & 14th Heritage Art Show at the Congregational Church, if you went last year it was a really nice event. It is a chance to see what talented people we have in our village and from others in our area. This is being organised by the Heritage Society and they would welcome your support in this centenary year.
The BIG JUNE 100th VILLAGE EVENT is spread over a weekend starting with a 1940 s style Swing dance music on Friday 19th June. 7.30 11.30pm. The big day will be on the Saturday with so much going on using both playing fields and the Memorial Gardens. Please look out for posters or go on the Parish Facebook page for more details.
St. Francis Church and the Congregational Church are hosting the Scarecrows competition at the Congregational Church. Other groups and individuals have been invited to make a scarecrow. These are going to be judged by Mr. James Abbott and Mr. Bob Wright at 12 noon on the 20th June.
We have a fun fair coming plus a couple of steam fair rides. Arena events, petting farm, classic cars, old bus tours around the roads. Lots of music and stalls, food and drink you name it and I m sure it will be there. Let s pray for a dry day
News & Thanks
Another busy month ahead. At the moment we are trying to make some Scarecrows at Coffee & Chat. Thank you for all the items brought in for this job and much fun and laughter has been created in our efforts. So far we have Doreen to go on the bike, Dave doing some work around the church. We are in the process of making Mr. Crittall and Daphne in the garden. Plus our coffee morning group around the table drinking tea and eating cake of course. Mandy is busy making a Mum and her baby, so I am sure there will be an assortment of characters. At the moment we are not quite sure where they will go and how we will display them, but I am sure by the big day all will be well. Hopefully it will give all our visitors a good laugh.
Our Thanksgiving and Memory Tree has a new addition. The Guide group produced some badges for the 100th and Gaye has made some into doilies or coasters for sale. 4.00 All proceeds are going to the Guides. We have purchased one to be hung on the tree which looks lovely.
Thank you for all the cakes that have been made and brought to the church over these last weeks we really appreciate all your kindness and skill! As always we do appreciate all the help at church to help keep us at the heart of our village.
Recycling at the church. As you know each house has been given new coloured bins by the Braintree District Council. The Church does not have these bins!! We rely on you all taking home your own plastic bottle, metal tins and paper. Please assist us to obey the new rules. Thank you
Please remember Val and Geoff I popped in to see Val and she is being well looked after at The Lodge, in Hatfield Peveral. She was pleased to see me and I took her some photo s to look through of us all at church from a few years ago. Val & Geoff like to hear any news.
Also, Margaret in St.Georges, Witham. Margaret is always pleased to hear about anything that has been happening in the village. She is being very well cared for and now has her own wheelchair so that she can come out of her room into the lounge, when she is well enough. Brian is looking forward to some nicer weather, so that they can go out in the garden, Margaret always liked seeing and listening to the birds.
Please remember Judy and David. David is now home after a long stay in hospital and physiotherapy trying to get him mobile again. It has not been easy for David or Judy as they both need care and they are both struggling to cope. Please pray for them both.
We give thanks for Brenda although she too is housebound and feels very lonely at times, Brenda still supports the fellowship in prayer and giving. She loves to hear all about everyone and what has been happening. Thanks to Gloria who visits Brenda most days and which Brenda really appreciates and looks forward too.

Our Thoughts, Prayers & Praises
Lord guide me through this Month with Your wisdom. Help me to make wise choices in every decision I face. Lead me with Your love, so that my actions reflect Your grace and kindness in all that I do. Amen
We give God all the thanks and praise for his mercies shown to us. The encouragements, the answers to prayer. Our Lord is very gracious, so be thankful, count your blessings and trust Him for what lies ahead.
Pray for our village celebrations, that the weekend will be a time of great fun and enjoyment for everyone. We ask God to keep everyone safe as we celebrate together.
We pray for all the young people taking their exams at the moment. The SATS at primary level, also GCSE s at this time and soon the A level exams. All important for our young people to help them to go into the careers they would like to go on to. We pray for our young people today, living at this moment in time where there are so many evil distractions.
We pray for this fellowship, please God send workers here for You. We give God thanks for all who support this fellowship in so many ways. May God bless St. Francis and our friends there. We give God thanks for Rev. Jane and her ministry in our village and locally. We also thank and ask your blessing on all who come and lead our services at the Congregational Church, may they know Your hand upon them.
Please remember all those in need of our prayers especially those who are grieving. We continue to remember those who have recently lost loved ones.
Please continue to remember Judy & David, Margaret & Brian, Val & Geoff, Brenda, Shelia, Erica, Barbara and Iris. There are so many other people we know who are really struggling with their mental health, depression, money worries, job worries at this time, we lift them to the Lord.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face towards you and give you peace. Numbers 24-26
