Didn't We Have a Lovely Time 100th Celebrations
Wow, Wow, Wow! What a very busy few weeks we have all had and so many things to celebrate. The village kicked off the celebrations with the Heritage Art Show with some amazing pieces of art from some local and very talented people. As I think most of you know I bought one of Mike Parker's special paintings of Silver End and its architecture celebrating 100 years of Silver End. It will be hung at the back of the church, so it will be available for viewing. It was a lovely weekend weather-wise and a very friendly atmosphere chatting to so many of the artists.
The next special event supported by the
S.E. Heritage was a book launch. The author, not a local lady, has written a
murder mystery book which is set in Silver End. Unfortunately I was unable to
attend but if you are interested I am sure Wendy at Coffee Morning could help
you get details. And then the Jive Dance in the evening, which Denise, Mandy
and Dave went to and had a great time. At the Congregational Church we were so
busy with the Scarecrows! I once again would like to thank you all for your
very hard work in creating these wonderful characters.
We have had so many people who have said how good they are. We just want to thank all the groups for their support with this idea. We have had such a lot of good fun making the Scarecrows which proved to be much harder than we first thought.
What an amazing weekend we all had. The weather couldn't have been kinder with so many people out and about enjoying all the things that were going on in the playing fields, the Park and on the old buses giving free rides to people. Also all the stalls in the village hall and the W.I. providing tea and cake and much more .The crowning Work of Art knitted by Maureen Green was the model of the Manors. It was absolutely magnificent, it measured 12feet long and was so detailed. Well done Maureen. I missed the evening's entertainment unfortunately but I hear it all went well with BreakFill4 and the Choir.
The Picnic in the Park was a great way to draw the whole weekend to a close and once again the weather was perfect and people just enjoyed being out and socialising together.

NEWS
We have a very special service coming up on the 2nd August at 6.30pm. We will be welcoming Julia to become a member of our church. Also Dave is to become officially part of the Diaconate for this fellowship. We would love you to come and support these friends as they make a commitment to Christ and this Church.
Shelia Want As I think most of you know Sheila suffered a minor stroke and is now living in Parkview Residential Home in Witham. I did pop over to see her, she is in Room 25 if anyone would like to send her a card or pop in to see her. Shelia has a lovely room downstairs and is recovering slowly, of course her mobility isn t very good but she is receiving very good care. Please remember Shelia and her family in your prayers and visit her if possible.
Val Sims. It is Val's birthday next week. So I am intending to visit her on Thursday to give her some cards and special birthday wishes from us all. Please do remember her and especially Geoff as he visits Val everyday and has had a problem with his car.
Margaret Martin is looking very well and her care at St. Georges is exceptional. I popped to see her last week. I caught up with Margaret and Brian was there and filled me in with how Margaret was doing. I had a lovely visit.
Please continue to remember Judy and David. I haven t caught up with them, but I know it has been extremely hard for them especially in this heat wave. They are putting a brave face on everything.
We continue to remember Brenda although she too is housebound and feels very lonely at times. Brenda still supports the fellowship in prayer and giving. She loves to hear all about everyone and what has been happening. Thanks to Gloria who visits Brenda most days and which Brenda really appreciates and looks forward too.

Our Thoughts, Prayers & Praises
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promises, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
We give God all the thanks and praise for his mercies shown to us. The encouragements, the answers to prayer. Our Lord is very gracious, so be thankful, count your blessings and trust Him for what lies ahead.
We give thanks to God for keeping our village safe as we celebrated 100 years since this village was established. Such a unique place to live and work. We have been very blessed.
Venezuela Earthquake We pray for all the people who are suffering the loss of family, friends, their homes and livelihoods. Lord please help these dear ones and all who are bringing aid in any way to help relieve the suffering.
Train Crash We pray for the family of the train driver who was tragically killed. We are shocked by such events as thankfully they happen so rarely. We remember too, all those who were injured and the lasting effects of injuries that can be difficult to recover from.
We pray for our local schools and the work of Empower, who go into our schools with help and blessing for all. We especially pray for all students who are moving up to senior school as this can be a big step for many, who are anxious and excited about their new school.
Some of course will be leaving to go on to college or university. We pray for them all.
Please remember our emergency services especially, who work tirelessly throughout this hot weather bringing help and aid to people in distress. Please look out for people you know who live alone and those who are vulnerable during this heat wave.
Father, Your will is that those who are destitute should be cared for and helped to establish themselves by finding somewhere to live, peace in their relationships and gainful occupation. We pray for all statutory and charitable initiatives that seek to achieve this. In Christ s name, Amen.
