THANKS THIS MONTH

We have many belated thank you’s! I know it seems ages ago, but as this is the first newsletter this year. I just wanted to recognise all the hard work and effort that went into the Festival of Christmas Trees. Especially from the uniformed groups and children’s groups who made either their trees and decorations or both. The church looked really amazing. Also, thank you to Sarah, for once again decorating the main tree and all the other groups and volunteers who did us proud. Thank you very much for the extra pairs of hands who helped dismantling the trees afterwards. We really couldn’t do this without you all. We are so very blessed to have your support. Thank you.

We also have a very big thank you to Karen, Nick, Pauline and Malcolm for all the extra work they have undertaken in the redecoration of the church. There has been an awful lot of shifting, carrying and storing and whilst I type I know that the carpet laying is imminent and all the electrical work that has got to be put in place. A huge, huge thank you!

‘Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also the interests of others.’

 Philippians 2: 3-4 (N.K.J.V)

SUGGESTED PRAYERS

‘Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message.’

Colossians 4:2-3 (N.I.V.)

At the beginning of this year we start a new chapter in our personal lives and that of our church. We ask the Lord to protect us in our individual lives, families and our church in this community. Thank God for the blessings He has given over the past year.

Prayer: Almighty God, time is in Your hands; You know every detail of the future. Help us to submit our lives to You through prayer and trusting in Your grace and mercy. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done through Your church. Amen.

Please Consider what you would like to see happening here in our church. Much change with the fabric of the church has taken place over the last few months. Now we ask God to reveal and guide.

Prayer, is most important as we look to the future. Would you be willing to pray? Perhaps for activities which already take place here. How can we reach those we don’t have contact with? Perhaps you could pray for just one person who you feel needs building up. Maybe you could pray for your road or your neighbours on either side of you. Could you do this Everyday? Challenging yourself to do this, say for a month. Write it on your calendar or your fridge door as a reminder.

‘Our God is greater, our God is stronger. God You are higher than any other. Our God is healer, awesome in power, our God! Our God! And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what could stand against? ( Chris Tomlin, songwriter)

Lord Jesus please bless your people in Silver End. May they be filled with your love and the Spirit of God, as they seek to follow and serve You. We pray that your church might grow as Your Holy Spirit prepares the hearts of men, women and children. Protect them we pray, from the evil one who is out to destroy lives. We ask Lord that you would send workers to move into the village to work alongside other Christians to bring about the furtherance of Your Kingdom to the Glory of God. Amen.

We pray for those who over the last month have suffered ill health and those awaiting hospital appointments and results. We continue to remember those who are grieving. We especially pray for Jo as she goes off to Australia to visit an old friend. We pray the Lord’s blessing on her and good travelling experiences. We will miss her very much and look forward to hearing all about her adventures when she returns.
