NEWS AND THANKS
As usual I do like to start by thanking you all for your most welcome support here. January has passed by very quickly, it has been mostly dull and very cold. When we see the sun it always lifts our spirits. It has been great to be encouraged by seeing new faces at church on a Sunday evening. We are few in number, but we are so blessed to be able to gather together to worship, be renewed and learn more about God’s love for each one of us. It is because of this that we are able to keep the doors open to allow other activities to take place in the Church and Halls, one of which is our Coffee & Chat on Tuesday. We are so blessed to have Denise and Mandy who commit their time every Tuesday. We know how much this is appreciated by you all. You are all so kind, bringing cakes and biscuits for us all to enjoy. Thank you all so much we really appreciate your kindness. Thank you also for those who step in and help, collecting the money, dirty cups, plates and help with the washing up. We also thank Norma and David who whenever they come call in at the community fridge in Halstead and share many items that have been donated in there.
I would like to thank Roy especially for the beautiful fresh flower arrangements he brings up to church for us all to enjoy. May God bless each and everyone who is so thoughtful and kind.
Our new Team Vicar for St. Francis & St. Mary’s
I wanted to share with you all that I had the privilege to go to the installation of the Revd Jane Quinton as Team Vicar of the villages in the Witham Team Ministry. The service was conducted in All Saints Terling. A church I know well as my family lived in Terling for many years and I lived there right opposite the church. Terling holds some very special memories for me. It was wonderful to see a full church, so many people and we were rewarded by a moving service to the Glory of God. As I sat reading the order of service through we were asked to spend some moments of quiet before the service: Giving thanks to God for all who have worshipped and ministered here in the past. I of course thought of my own family, Mum and Dad who married in this church and my Grand Parents and Uncles) This gave me great joy, as I reflected on my own past. Yesterday, Today and Forever Jesus is the Same. All the generations who have worshipped in our churches whether it be All Saints Terling, St. Francis, Silver End or St. Mary’s, Rivenhall. We are so blessed to have this heritage. Our churches, and I include the Congregational Church, are taken for granted by the wider population. We think that these buildings will always be here. They are kept alive by those Godly men and women of faith who have left their stamp on the community they served and worshipped in. We who serve now continue this work to the best of our abilities and the Glory of God. Our new Team Vicar who will be living in Terling is an absolute delight. I am hoping to get to know her through my attendance at St. Francis and I hope that we will be able to have good church friendships forged. Jane has a huge job because she has 6 churches under her care. Please pray for her and her husband Graham. I am hoping that she may be available to take the Good Friday Ecumenical Service this year, which will be at St. Francis.

WHILE YOU WERE ASLEEP, GOD WAS AT WORK!
GOOD MORNING
Thank God.
Today is a special and beautiful day!
No matter how difficult it is today
God is with you at every step.
Have a nice day.
Give thanks to God for this fellowship, for all who have worshipped and ministered here in the past.
Pray for the present congregation and all our visiting speakers who faithfully serve this church.
Pray for the local community served by this church. May God give us wisdom and workers to reach out and share God’s saving grace.
Pray for your own involvement in the life and witness of God’s Church. We grow in faith through Worship, we grow warmer through fellowship, deeper through discipleship, and broader through ministry. Help us to be your ‘workers’ here in Silver End. Please pray for the New Team Vicar, Jane as she begins her ministry.
We pray for our village, we give thanks for all the amenities we enjoy here. We are very fortunate in so many ways to have Shops, Doctors, Chemist, Library, Hairdresser, Takeaways. A bus service etc…… We often take such things as our given right in this day and age, but I for one think we are very fortunate. Look out for your neighbours, pray for them and all the new folk moving here.
Pray our Country at this time, with all the looming strikes that are to take place this month. We pray for the Government to govern wisely and fairly, they need so much prayer! Those who will be choosing to strike could affect so many of us personally, whether it be our Ambulance Service, Nurses, travelling on the Railway to get to work or visit people. Now our Schools may have to close and children / students will be affected, which alternately affects all the working parents. Oh dear it is such a mess, I can only bring it to the Lord in prayer.
Please bring before the Lord, all the dear ones we have concerns for, from our own family or friends. Those, from this fellowship who are in much need of our prayers. We pray for Roy, for Doreen, For Rose, for Brenda, for Shelia, for Judy, for Val. We know of many others grieving in this village too, we add to this list Anne’s niece Alison (nee Smith) who has died suddenly coming so soon after her Dad's death. This is such a shock for the family, please pray for them all.
So little room left to remind us to pray for Our World! Especially persecuted Christians in Nigeria and throughout the world! The war in Ukraine which seems to be escalating. Pray for all those facing death, injury, devastation, and utter despair. Lord please be with all and bring peace.
