Let’s all fix our eyes on Jesus “ the author and perfecter of our faith” as we are at the beginnings of this new year offering HOPE to those around us. Hebrews 12:2
JUST PRAY ! Our lives are busy, sometimes just full of nothing really important, just stuff! I wondered if you could Pray for two minutes daily when you have a drink, maybe your morning coffee or tea. Or mid afternoon, whenever you choose. This church, this village, this country needs our prayers more than ever. So I am inviting you to Just Pray and to make prayer for your local area, friends and neighbours a habit as part of your every day.
I can only share with you my routine for the day. I am always up early for various reasons but basically I am a morning person. I like to sit quietly by myself with a cup of tea. I usually have my quiet time reading the Bible every day. I am working my way through the Bible and it can be difficult to understand. It is very interesting how things pop out at you sometimes and I then have to consult another Amplified Bible which explains what it means and why. I follow this with prayer giving thanks and praise. Praying for family and friends or other problems, my mind is often all over the place, but God doesn’t mind. It is an amazing way to start off each day. As I have told most of you, I also pray as I walk my dogs over the fields, it is again a wonderful time when you can off load all the things on your heart, have a little cry, be quiet and still, it is just amazing. I can recommend it.
News & Thank you
As always we wouldn’t be able to keep our church so open and vibrant without the help from so many wonderful people. It is all those little things that get willingly done without having to be asked. Of course it goes without saying the Tuesday Crew are fantastic! What would we do without them at Coffee and Chat. Denise being ‘trained’ does all those little extra touches in the kitchen cleaning and tidying the cupboards up. Denise and Mandy leave the kitchen in pristine condition. Thanks girls. Once again Thank you for all those Cakes, Scones and goodies that you all bring in to share. You are so generous, thank you. Can I give a special thank you to Gloria and Jean who always come up trumps on a Sunday evening helping with the refreshments and washing up afterwards. We are so blessed as a fellowship. Thanks too to Norma and David who when they come bring goodies from the community fridge to share with everyone, they always get snapped up quickly. Nothing goes to waste! So lovely to see them on a Tuesday as well as a Sunday when Norma is speaking.
Also a big Thank you to Malcolm and Pauline, Malcolm is still providing his CD messages so that he can help with the spiritual teaching as part of the church especially for those who are not able to come so often. We do appreciate their continued love, care and prayers for us in Silver End.
The church is very blessed by all our visiting speakers who come and lead our services every week. Each bringing us a message and great encouragement as we go through these difficult times.
The church is beginning to return to normal times and we have much to say thank you to God for. As I have said before it is such a delight to be able to meet up and to share with one another. We are so blessed that we have a building and facilities that we can share with the community as part of God’s work here in Silver End. We all have a part to play in caring for this gift and looking after one another We give God the Glory, the Church is the people, Not the building.
As a family we have had quite a stressful week –THIS HYMN CAME TO ME
Lord, I come to You, let my heart be changed, renewed, flowing from the grace that I’ve found in You.
And Lord, I’ve come to know the weaknesses I see in me will be stripped away by the power of Your love.
Hold me close, let Your love surround me; bring me near, draw me to Your side. And as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle, and I will soar with You, Your Spirit leads me on in the power of Your love.
Lord, unveil my eyes, let me see You face to face, the knowledge of Your love as You live in me. Lord, renew my mind, as Your will unfolds in my life in living every day in the power of Your love.
Hold me close, let Your love surround me, bring me near, draw me to You side. And as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle, and I will soar with You, Your Spirit leads me on in the power of Your love.

PRAYERS
Father thank You that You have promised us that You will never leave us or forsake us. We look to You to lead us with thankfulness, assurance and trust, knowing that promise in our hearts, You will never leave us or forsake us.
Holocaust Memorial Day
Eternal Father, today we commemorate the millions whose lives were destroyed, and those who perished in the Nazi Holocaust in Europe and genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. We firmly believe that one day Your justice will be made known, through Christ the Lord. Amen
We Pray for Tonga and the devastation from the earthquake and tsunami. The photos from space were shocking. We pray that water and food will reach them quickly, and communications and re building will start
We pray for our own Country where storms have been causing havoc up North. Thousands without power once again. We pray especially for the families of the 2 people killed by trees falling down. One a young boy of 9 and a 60 year old woman. How absolutely terrible for their loved ones. We lift them to the Lord.
Pray for each other. We know people within this fellowship and their families are having difficulties with health, physically and mentally. We would lift Roy, Brenda, Val and Judy especially. We remember Rose, and our friends from Valentine House especially Ellen, who has no family. We give thanks for Mandy who keeps contact with her. We ask that God will surround them with his Love and Presence, that they will feel safe and loved.
Please keep praying for this village, for this fellowship and the other churches in the village, and for your neighbours and friends. May God’s love touch their innermost being and give life, strength and hope.
Keep this Country, Parliament and the Government in your prayers. There are serious issues with the Ukraine and Russia. Our energy costs going up and the rise in the National Insurance which will hit families. We ask that the Government will be given great wisdom to make these decisions that will effect so many lives.
Please remember the Queen as she enters her Platinum year. We know how her faith has sustained her over long service to this Country. We thank you that she uses opportunities to share that faith with others.
